She wants me to do something I don't want to do.
She wants my opinion, says she values it, but never seems to actually listen to what I say. Sometimes she even will admit that I was right--but not very often.
I do the bulk of the house/yard work, but am rarely thanked. I keep on doing it anyway because my vision is better and I don't like dirty floors or a messy yard.
Then the one time I blow up (admittedly major), I'm a horrible person to be avoided. But when she blows up, cussing, screaming, and hitting me (I will not lay an angry hand on anyone), I pull her closer and try to work through it, and somehow she's supposed to be forgiven instantaneously--or pretty close to it.
The boy violated the house rules again (a week after the prior incident) and I protected my step daughter...who she seems to think will learn from the school of hard knocks. And I'm the bad guy and have to write an apology, but she never does & I now have a closet full of "I'm sorry" clothes that I don't wear.
Call it equality of the sexes? Nope.
